² But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, ^(A)there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”

Signs of the End of the Age

³ As he sat on ^(B)the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him ^(C)privately, saying, “Tell us, ^(D)when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your ^(E)coming and of ^(F)the end of the age?” ⁴ And Jesus answered them, ^(G)“See that no one leads you astray. ⁵ For ^(H)many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am ^(I)the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. ⁶ And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you ^(J)are not alarmed, for this ^(K)must take place, but the end is not yet. ⁷ For ^(L)nation will rise against nation, and ^(M)kingdom against kingdom, and there will be ^(N)famines and earthquakes in various places. ⁸ All these are but the beginning of ^(O)the birth pains.

⁹ “Then ^(P)they will deliver you up ^(Q)to tribulation and ^(R)put you to death, and ^(S)you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. ¹⁰ And then many will fall away^[a] and ^(T)betray one another and hate one another. ¹¹ And many ^(U)false prophets will arise ^(V)and lead many astray. ¹² And because lawlessness will be increased, ^(W)the love of many will grow cold. ^13 (X)But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom ^(Y)will be proclaimed throughout the whole world ^(Z)as a testimony ^(AA)to all nations, and ^(AB)then the end will come.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

25 “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ^(A)ten virgins who took their lamps^[a] and went to meet ^(B)the bridegroom.^{[b] 2} Five of them were foolish, and five were ^(C)wise. ³ For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, ⁴ but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. ⁵ As the bridegroom ^(D)was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. ⁶ But ^(E)at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ ⁷ Then all those virgins rose and ^(F)trimmed their lamps. ⁸ And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ ⁹ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ ¹⁰ And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and ^(G)those who were ready went in with him to ^(H)the marriage feast, and ^(I)the door was shut. ¹¹ Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ^(J)‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ ^12 (K)But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, ^(L)I do not know you.’ ^13 (M)Watch therefore, for you ^(N)know neither the day nor the hour.
